this weekend, my good friend rachel {from umass} visited with her boyfriend. we did touristy things like oogle the capital, walked along the national mall, perused eastern market {and bought amazing cigar boxes}, visited a few museums, and met up with some other friends of theirs.
i took them to we, the pizza for lunch where we sipped on refreshing summer shandys {lemonade infused beer}, and on our way back from the mall we stopped at a random capitol hill bar on pennsylvania for drinks, where we ended up with a more than gratiutious waitress and {sadly} participated in a non-stop mouse watch.
afterwards, and instead of eating dinner, we came back to our place, where we killed a bottle of prosecco a little too quickly before moving on to white wine and whiskey + pickle juice shots {a great drink, but turned out to be a terrible life decision for some of us}.
all in all it was one of the best saturdays i've had in a long while. it was so much fun to be able to entertain in our *own* apartment, and explore our neighborhood with out-of-towners.
