this weekend, with temps in the 50s [can you believe it!?], it finally started to feel like fall, and even a bit of winter, around here. i didn't mind the major drop in temperature; i am a true advocate and enthusiast for scarf and boot weather [i think fall is my favorite season to dress for -- the amount of layering is practically endless which i feel just makes everything look instantly and infinitely times cuter].
not only dose it change wardrobe wise, but it also invites warmer foods back into your diet [it marks the expiration of iced coffee, fall-flavored treats can suddenly be found everywhere, and you find youreslf craving soup 24/7]. things also shift into a slower gear, and you start moving at a more relaxed pace. over the summer, i constantly felt exhausted and pushed to the limit with endless parties and travel plans, not to mention forcing myself to be outside as much as possible. i thought i was the energizer bunny and i never wanted to stop. now, i'm throwing in the towel. i've traded my party pants for a fleece blanket and and cup of warm* chai, and i couldn't be more excited.
of course i'll be regretting this entire post in about two months when winter rears its ugly face.

*even in the winter, you can see find me sipping an iced chai. i just love it so much! it's a rarity for me to order a warm chai, and every fall i vow that this year, i'll start drinking it again. who knows, maybe this is the year.
*ps - it's official. i'm a house-plant murderer. i always forget to water them:( see exhibit a. in photo 01.

What a colorful houses. Where is your place in there on the third photo?
