another amazing weekend for the books. this has seriously been one of the best summer i've ever had.
this weekend, we all headed up north to slaughter beach, delaware for a little fun in the sun and a much needed weekend away spent at a cute little pirate ship themed beach house.
we packed up our cars after work on thursday {some on tuesday, wednesday and friday, too} and drove 3 hrs north to this sweet little spot. we pretended we were in the jersey shore {re-named the slaughter shore since we were staying at slaughter beach}, ate "family dinners" every night and bacon and eggs together every morning, sipped on gin&tonics, gave each other pirate names, experimented with making our own shooters {unsurprisingly not that great...}, played scrabble and chess, enjoyed one full-day of thunderstorms and one full-day of sunshine {which required non-stop lazying on the beach}, night "swimming," slumber parties, dance parties, hookah parties, cleaning parties, and slept in until nearly noon everyday.
it was the perfect way to end our summer. i even video tapped a bit of it using the 8mm app on my iphone. {i'm just about to try to figure out how to add sound, cut and put together a fun video - cross your fingers that it works out for me!}
the next few weeks should be pretty lax now that i'm done traveling for a while. and thank goodness for that, i'm exhausted! i'm looking forward to squeezing in all of the quality time i can before my two best girlfriends {with me on the left in the fifth line of pictures} both leave me on labor day weekend - one to colorado for the year, and the other to london for the year. as much as i am so excited and thrilled for them both, it's going to be a super sad weekend and hard adjustment for me without them this next year.
