i think i did the last two posts backwards. my list in yesterday's post really should have been part of my friday favorites post, but for some reason, i've felt extra out of sorts this week and everything has sort of been out of order.
when trying to come up with a 'favorites' for this week, i came across this outfit i created a few weeks ago on polyvore. it's pretty much screaming fall to me. and it covers all your bases : brown boots, sweater dress, leather jacket, scarf, crossbody bag. i'm using it today because coincidentally enough, i happen to be wearing the same exact outfit, of course, with a few minor [read: price*] differences.
my real outfit :
vintage brown boots from my grandmother [half suede, half leather] | dark grey tights, target | eggplant suede skirt, f21 | white button down, old navy [i don't normally shop here anymore, but i was in the neighborhood and i just... couldn't resist] | vintage rings from my grandmother | feather necklace, f21 | oversized pearl earrings, i think i actually got these at my campus center in college, yikes! | wicked cheap watch, [i can't even tell you, but i will] loehman's
things i am desperately missing : a scarf and my trench coat. what was i thinking leaving the house this morning?
while i do work for a hedge-fund like investment firm, i'm not a millionaire yet [and i probably never will be, let's face it]. and that's okay. i am becoming a seasoned thrift shopper, finding all those beautiful things i want, but for less. and besides, there's something to be said about earning your own money, and, what's that? oh, spending it wisely.
i also wouldn't be able to afford food and rent, either.
sidenote : i also have a vintage looking [only because its 4 yrs old -- that doesn't really qualify it as "vintage," but i'm rolling with it] cognac crossbody bag [also from f21], a leather jacket similar to the acne one, and a knock off pair of those sunglasses in black, from target.
hope you all have a fashionable weekend!
