on friday, i was lucky enough to experience one of the most beautiful nights [and concerts] of my life - fleet foxes at merriweather post. the combination of damp, leftover rain and the sunshine peeking through the clouds at sunset created an incredible double rainbow ["what does it mean!?"] that suddenly appeared right in front of us while i was driving on the BW parkway. after the road turned, the rainbow[s] appeared to the right of us, and we saw the brightest rainbow arched perfectly from start to finish. i've never seen the beginning and the end of a rainbow before, which proved appropriate foreshadowing for the overwelming and emotional show to come. they played really beautiful music and hit almost all of their songs from both of
their albums, not to mention two of my favorites - your protector and blue ridge mountains.*
the rest of this playlist comes from finally discovering the new kanye west / jay-z collaboration and playing it at full-volume on the way to and from the concert on friday, mixed with a little bit of nouvelle vague's pandora station.
'album cover' is a shot of fleet foxes using instagram.

*these two songs hold a special place in my heart for a number of reasons ::: the feeling you get when you first play an album and hear a song for the first time [the moment that you fall completely in love with it], the change of seasons from summer to fall, and my dad being at the end of his rope during this time. this entire album was played on repeat for most of last fall. it's the best.
